Named a national sweet-potato township in 1996 (source: Hebei Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, 2024), Lulong has over 200 cooperatives, family farms and processing firms with 12 key enterprises making more than 30 product types; Lulong starch and vermicelli are exported to over 20 countries including the US, Japan, Korea and Australia, and the county is approved as a national regional sweet potato seed-breeding base.
