Jize's 'yangjiao' peppers are a local specialty; the county grows 65,000 mu yielding 175,000 tonnes of fresh peppers, with 78 processors handling over 350,000 tonnes a year. Its chopped chili holds over 20% of the national market, exported to more than ten countries including Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia; the full industry chain was worth RMB 6.7 billion in 2025.
